Guide: Innovative Techniques of Seniors Activation
The guide “Innovative Techniques of Seniors Activation” is a publication describing a variety of methods and experiences of working with seniors in different countries, including Poland, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Italy, Serbia and Cyprus. The guide was created as part of the international project ITOSA – Innovative Techniques of Seniors Activation, whose aims included creating an innovative training programme motivating seniors to cooperate and learn new things, to act practically for their local communities (bringing about social change), and to be creative and share their achievements with others.
Guide to creating quests on climate change
The guide to creating quests on climate change is a publication with guidelines for creating quests – self-guided outdoor games in which players move along a route reading rhymed clues with riddles that lead to a treasure: a hiding place with a commemorative stamp. In addition to the general quest methodology, the publication contains guidelines for creating quests on climate change education. The guide was created as part of the AgeinGreen project, dedicated to educating seniors about climate change.
Training programme: Good practices in education on climate change
The training programme “Good practices in climate change education” is teaching material for people working in senior education, as well as for coordinators of environmental and social projects connected with non-governmental, educational and environmental organisations. It contains a detailed programme for a series of three workshops on climate change, with suggested methods for running them, an overview of basic information on climate change and a list of sources. We also present the conclusions from pilot workshops held in intergenerational groups (young people and seniors) in Poland, Slovenia, France, Spain and Cyprus.
Creative thinking guide for parents
Creative Thinking for Parents. A Guide is divided into several chapters that take you through the main areas of improving creative thinking skills, following the structure of the training course for parents that was also developed in the project. First you will find information on the scientific foundations provided by NUI Galway, followed by a description of the nine thematic areas chosen for the training course and for the web app, the project’s third result, with detailed access instructions at the end of this guide.
Highlanders' Treasures for everyone
Skarby Górali. Poznaj Górala spoza Podhala (Highlanders’ Treasures. Meet the Highlanders from beyond Podhale) is a book presenting the most interesting texts and photographs collected by young people from eight Lesser Poland ethnographic groups: the Babiogórcy, White Highlanders, Kliszczacy, and the Nadpopradzie, Orawa, Pieniny, Spisz and Zagórze Highlanders. Full of beautiful illustrations, stories about everyday life in the past and original customs, and interviews with artists and craftspeople who cultivate vanishing traditions, the book introduces highland culture in a special way – attractive to every reader, regardless of age, gender or place of residence.
The lesser-known Highlands – but well researched
Góralszczyzna mniej znana. W poszukiwaniu lokalnych tradycji (The Lesser-Known Highlands. In Search of Local Traditions) summarises the results of field research carried out in 2018–2019 by a team of graduates from most Polish ethnology centres, mainly the Jagiellonian University. The researchers were led by Dr Łukasz Sochacki, who is responsible for the selection of texts, editing and the introduction. The book is devoted to the eight groups of Lesser Poland highlanders mentioned above but – unlike the previous one – it was guided above all by scholarly aims. It contains many records of fascinating conversations, saving from oblivion the realities of life and the mentality of today’s highlanders.
The active senior's guide
Space for Seniors. The Active Senior’s Guide is a book which we hope will help and inspire seniors to act for their local communities – also during and after the difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is the fruit of many years of the Mapa Pasji Foundation’s experience of working with more than twenty different senior communities from southern Poland. Enriched by this experience, we decided to share it with active seniors who are not afraid of challenges and are looking for ideas to develop themselves and their communities. How to be an effective leader? How to organise yourselves and prepare meetings? How to design the space around you and find your way through the maze of regulations? Enjoy reading!
Media literacy guide for parents
Media Literacy. A Guide for Parents has been published in six languages: English, Bulgarian, French, Greek, Polish and Italian. It is the work of an international team, created to help parents prevent and counter the threats children face online, and also to discover the opportunities the internet offers them. The guide is a unique combination of knowledge about the digital world and psychological knowledge about the behaviour of parents, children and young people, and thus delivers an innovative programme spreading knowledge about the digital world among parents, with the child as the main beneficiary. It is written so that each part can be read separately.
